    Top Casino stories of 2011

Last year was definitely rather eventful in the world of online gambling and casinos, with many very interesting stories making the headlines. So as we finish 2011 and move into the year analogue TV dies, we invite you to join us as we take a look back at the top casino stories of the year gone by…

Don Johnson wins $7 million in blackjack

Don Johnson stepped in the Tropicana Atlantic City one day to play some blackjack and he walked out with over $5.8 million during a marathon session. The player single handedly cost the casino 20% of their revenue. But the hungry player didn’t stop at that. He went back to the Tropicana and mercilessly took away another $2million. Don Johnson went on a rampage and collected over $17 million from various Atlantic City casinos and the casino owners have still not gotten over the shock!

    Dumb thief gets busted

You’ve probably watched a lot of casino heist movies, but one heist that went down at the Bellagio went totally wrong. The heist started off on the right not and just like in a movie a man wearing a motorcycle helmet walked into the Bellagio, held a table at gunpoint and demanded chips. The masked criminal collected the loot, slipped through the back door and rode away on his bike. I would say the whole thing went pretty well and it could be called the perfect crime until later our masked thief tried to sell the chips online! To add insult to injury the idiot actually returned to the Bellagio to play poker. The thief was identified as Anthony M.Carleo a Las Vegas municipal judge’s son! Looks like the guy didn’t plan his exit strategy too well.

    Gambling on the beach?

Miami is one of those postcard perfect places. The white sandy beaches, the excellent weather and the tropical life style are some of the best attractions. But Miami is pondering on adding a little more fun to the mix.  Miami has been approached by many major players in the casino industry wanting to stake claims in the city. Some of the companies that have shown interest include The Genting Group, Caesars Entertainment and the Las Vegas Sands Corp.
